WHY
WHY?
Set aside what you want to achieve (lose weight.... build muscle.... manage chronic illness....). Goals are critical and a support network in achieving goals is critical, but goals are useless and support unguided if there isn't a REASON for the goals.
Defining your 'WHY' is the single most important exercise you can do. With that marker, your goals have a reason and your support network has something powerful to remind you WHY you are trying to achieve your goals.
Our WHY was simple....don't have another heart surgery and be as physically fit as possible to enjoy life as much as possible.
What is your WHY?
Good food
Food
While exercise is critical to achieving physical health goals, nutrition is the single most important factor in physical health. There's tons of literature that suggests roughly 70% of your total physical health is impacted by what you put into your body while the other 30% is impacted by what you do to your body.
While some illnesses and conditions are not avoidable and the ratio above changes based on individual circumstances, good food habits can have a positive impact in many situations.
AND, nutrition isn't about 'a diet'. Good nutrition is about making the right choices and striking the right balance. Those good habits and that good balance becomes a lifestyle.......NOT a 'diet'.
